The visiting Sierra Leone Presdient , Julius Maada Bio has called upon African governments to embrace the use of technology such as the blockchain to curb high levels of corruption which costing the continent trillions of shillings .
He was delivering a keynote address at the 2nd Africa blockchain conference held in Kampala. Emerging technologies including the Internet of things (IoT) virtual reality and artificial intelligence (AI) are now enabling societal shifts as they affect people’s incomes ,values and offer unique opportunities for the future generations.
President Maada Bio, was also shown the Kiira EVS a hybrid car produced by Uganda’s automotive flagship , Kiira Motors Corporation. He was received by the company’s Executive Board Chairman, prof. Sandy Stevens Tickodri- Togboa .
President Bio hailed Kiira Motors for its “inspiring mobility technologies” and championing the green mobility on the African continent . He said that Sierra Leone will welcome cars made by kiira motors since they will reduce air pollution.
